Visit the historic New Jersey Dutch Barn for an illustrated introduction to George Washington’s final headquarters of the Revolutionary War. Handle reproduction artifacts of the Revolutionary War. Sign up for tours of the grounds. Rockingham was George Washington's final wartime headquarters. Arriving from New York, Washington stayed at Rockingham from August 23, 1783 and left November 10, 1783. While at Rockingham, Washington entertained guests, issued his Farewell Orders to the Army, and learned the United States became formally independent with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. The historic house remains closed due to construction for stabilization of the south elevation. ? Revolution NJ is New Jersey’s official observance of the 250th anniversaries of New Jersey’s first Constitution July 2, 2026 and the American Revolution in New Jersey from 2024 – 2033.

Endings & Beginnings of the Revolutionary War: Rockingham Open House

Visit George Washington’s Final Wartime Headquarters at Rockingham for an open house of “Endings and Beginnings” exploring documents from the start and end of the Revolutionary War including George Washington’s Farewell Orders to the Armies of the United States composed in headquarters at Rockingham. Bedminster Fall Fest
Fall Fest Community Day is Bedminster Township’s premier community celebration held outdoors at River Road Park in Bedminster. The event attracts an audience of over 5,000 residents of all ages. We host a large social tent with tables and chairs for neighbors to relax, eat and socialize; as well as live music, entertainment, child & adult activities, exhibitor displays and contests. Chinese Lantern Making Workshops
Bridgewater Commons Commons Way, BridgewaterThe Center for Cultural & Creative Exchange (CCCE) brings the beauty and tradition of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival to Bridgewater Commons with a spectacular celebration of light, culture, and creativity. Guests can explore 15 illuminated, handcrafted Chinese lanterns—some soaring up to 10 feet tall—displayed throughout the center’s first two levels. Hands-on lantern-making and cultural craft workshops will also be offered in the Events Space. Also known as the Moon Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a cherished celebration centered on family, togetherness, and gratitude. Traditionally, families gather to share mooncakes, admire the full moon, and enjoy colorful lantern displays and festivities. Halloween Hayrides
This spooky season, the Stable is offering two types of hayrides to provide an all-inclusive experience. Join us on our family-friendly hayride where a tour guide will tell spooky ghost stories along the way—looking for something a little more frightening? Join us for our truly haunting “jump scare” tour. This hayride is recommended for people 10 years and older. Dates: October 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 * No hayrides on the 5th, but all other activities will be available. Fee: $15 per person. Activity Requirements: Advance registration is required. All participants must sign an annual waiver. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled ride. Registration: Pre-registration is required. Millstone’s 250th Anniversary Comes to Life on Stage in The Final Tolling of the Bells
As Millstone Borough celebrates its 250th anniversary, The Final Tolling of the Bells brings the community’s Revolutionary-era history to life through an original historical drama by local playwright Vita Morales. Set in Millstone during a pivotal moment in the American Revolution, the play explores the people behind the history—their hopes, conflicts, courage, and difficult choices. Morales received a Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Medal of Merit for the play. Presented by local actors and community members, the free performance offers audiences an opportunity to experience Millstone’s history through live theater while reflecting on themes that remain remarkably relevant today. The performance will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
