Cross Estate Gardens (Bernardsville)
The gardens of Cross Estate feel just like a fairytale. Enjoy the wisteria covered pergola in late April-early May and the rhododendron blooming arch in late May (typically around Memorial Day weekend). This is a dog friendly garden that also features a picturesque water tower (that yes used to work) and lush garden paths.
Jacobus Vanderveer House (Bedminster)
America’s first military training academy and the headquarters of General Henry Knox, who oversaw artillery operations and modeled West Point’s future. Be on the lookout for some of their signature events including Colonial Christmas.
USGA Museum (Bernards)
The world’s largest and oldest collection of golf memorabilia. Peony’s Envy (Bernardsville & Liberty Corner)
Peruse over 30,000 peonies plants! From May to June peony blooms enjoy their season. There are two locations for Peony’s Envy – one in Bernardsville that has the display gardens and is also the site for the annual Peak Bloom Party. The other location resides in Liberty Corner that features the cut flower fields where visitors are encouraged to pick gorgeous stems to fill their home with.
NJ Audubon’s Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary (Bernardsville)
The headquarters for New Jersey Audubon is also home to over 200 species of wildlife during the course of the year. This popular birding destination also hosts many fun and educational events throughout the year, from photography classes to yoga and to guided walks.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House (Green Brook)
Grab some food, a few drinks, and throw some hatchets down with family and friends. Check out their themed nights including ‘Glow ‘n Throw’ and throwback nights.
