Meet Phillis Wheatley at SSAAM Dive into Black History Month with SSAAM! Join for an unforgettable performance by Dr. Daisy Century, showcasing the inspiring journey of Phillis Wheatley, the 18th-century poet who overcame slavery to become the first African American woman to publish poetry. The event takes place on Feb 9 at 7 pm and Feb 10 at 11 am, with museum open hours on Feb 10 from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Maple Sugaring at The EEC Maple sugaring is a tradition in the Northeast that began centuries ago with the Native Americans and Colonists. People of all ages are invited to see this tradition brought to life at the Environmental Education Center (EEC). You will see how trees are tapped, view sap-collecting methods past and present, and see the boiling process that produces delicious New Jersey maple syrup. This 60-minute, outdoor program is conducted at our Sugar Shack, a ½-mile hike from the EEC. Please arrive at the EEC 30-40 minutes before the program start time to purchase tickets and hike to the Sugar Shack to meet your Naturalist.  Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Boots are recommended as the trails can be wet, muddy, and/or covered by snow. Tickets cost $6 per student/senior and $7 per adult.

Pick Your Own Project Workshop with Board and Brush Looking for a fun way to connect with friends or family? Join Board and brushes most popular DIY workshop and create your own unique wood sign! Select a wood project from their gallery. They'll provide all the materials and instruct you step-by-step to create a beautiful piece for your home or for a gift. Choose from a variety of paint and wood stain colors in the workshop. Pre-registration is required.
