The Sky Above – Sensory Friendly

Welcome to a comfortable and judgement-free zone to learn some astronomy.  This sensory-friendly astronomy and music show is specially designed for families with children on the Autism spectrum and other developmental disorders.  Neurotypical children are welcome as well.  The program is presented on a kindergarten level, but all ages are welcome.  Enjoy music, laser lights, stories, and information about the planets, Moon, and constellations.  During the show, the doors remain open so children may leave and return if they choose.  Lights are kept dim (instead of dark) and music is at a consistent level.

Opening Reception: Stephanie Napholtz – Artist of the Month

Join us at Gallery on Main for an in-person reception celebrating an exhibition of photographs by Stephanie Napholtz of Greenbrook, New Jersey. Meet the artist, see a selection of her photos, and mingle with other artists and art lovers. Admission is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there! Astronomy Tonight

Using the Planetarium’s DigitalSky digital theater, experience a guided tour of the night sky. Learn about some of the popular constellations visible from sunset to sunrise, as well as the stories behind them. Hear about how and where in the sky to find the brightest planets. Weather permitting, the 3M Observatory will be open after the show. (Recommended for ages 8 to adult)

Zephyr: A Whirlwind Of Circus

Mechanical wonders, circus gadgetry, and astonishing acrobatics are all part of Cirque Mechanics’ new show Zephyr: A Whirlwind of Circus, inspired by the power of the wind and the human ingenuity that goes into harnessing it. Centered around a giant windmill mounted on a turntable, performers fly, balance, float on air, and defy gravity in an exhilarating whirlwind circus. Fall under the spell of turning gears and whooshing sails in this tale about the unrelenting tug-of-war between man and nature. Experience the artistry and thrill of acrobatic bicycles, foot juggling, hair hanging, and the mysterious wheel of destiny in this all ages show that’ll blow you away.

AMERICAN THEATER GROUP PRESENTS “PARADE”

American Theater Group, a professional Actors Equity company, presents the musical “PARADE” This Tony-Award winning musical by Jason Robert Brown (Bridges of Madison County) and Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy) dramatizes the story of Leo Frank, a factory manager accused of murdering a young employee.  The 1913 Trial of the Century created a media frenzy full of half-truths, innuendo and unabashed bigotry. Directed by Tony Award nominee, Hunter Foster. Hunter Foster is the Artistic Director for the Redhouse Arts Center in Syracuse, NY where he most recently directed Rent and God of Carnage. He directed The Other Josh Cohen off-Broadway at the West Side theatre in NYC and was named the 2018 “Director of the Year” by the Wall Street Journal for his productions of 42nd Street at the Bucks County Playhouse, and The Drowsy Chaperone at the Goodspeed Opera House. Also at the Bucks County Playhouse he has directed: Clue, 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls, Company, Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Buddy Holly Story, National Pastime, The Rocky Horror, Summer of ’42, Million Dollar Quartet and It’s a Wonderful Life. He has also directed productions of the Million Dollar Quartet for the Paper Mill Playhouse, Cincinnati Playhouse, Geva Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, St. Louis Rep and at many other theatres around the country.
