Catalan Music Program
Catalan Music Program
This concert offers the opportunity to discover three Catalan composers who developped their careers partially in the United States: Joan Manén (1883-1971), Marc Migó (1993-), and Lluis Benejam (1914-1968). Their unique styles merge the Mediterranean light with American influences. Similarly, the performers involved in this concert represent the two involved nations (Bethany Bobbs comes from The United States, while Daniel Blanch and Kalina Macuta come from Catalonia.) They will merge their musicality to showcase the stylistic richness that characterizes the music of the three featured composers.

This series will begin Thursday March 2 and continue every Thursday evening until April 6. March 2 & 9 classes will cover the winter resident birds, March 16 & 23 classes will cover the early migrant birds, and March 30 & April 6 classes will cover the summer resident birds. After the end of the series participants may join Randy for a free, outdoor, “practical hands-on” Learning the Birds by Song walk at the Sanctuary. COST PER CLASS: $10 members, $15 nonmembers.
