Full Circle: Origins and Revolutions - Frontline Arts' 50th Anniversary Benefit On April 28th, 2024 at 1pm, Frontline Arts is celebrating our 50th anniversary at Mexicali Brews. Together will gather, celebrate this anniversary and raise funds for our growing and nationally-recognized socially engaged arts programming that serves over 6,000 individuals a year; from Frontline Paper, to the Scrubs Paper Project to the Migration Project, plus educational classes in print & papermaking for adults and youth, studio services,  exhibitions and so much more. Frontline Arts is celebrating a huge milestone: our 50th anniversary. We will be recognizing and honoring the families of the founders of the Printmaking Council of New Jersey, without which our organization wouldn't be here today. Their passion for printmaking and papermaking in 1974 is our origin story. We will also be honoring David Keefe, co-founder of Frontline Arts and former Board President, who led our revolution into this current era of Frontline Arts from the Printmaking Center of New Jersey. The benefit will be held inside the fun and funky restaurant Mexicali Brews. We will enjoy Mexican-inspired passed Hors D’oeuvres and a gourmet reception dinner, plus a cash bar for beer, wine, and cocktails.  Each person will receive a complimentary welcome

Build a Planter with Burnt Mills Potter Bonsai or Succulent Planter Sunday, April 28th, 2024 12pm 2pm or 4pm Design and hand-build with slabs of clay a unique planter. Finished pieces are decorative as well as functional and can be left out in all seasons. Many options are available. Items will be available for pick up about 4 weeks later. For age 8 and above. Beginner to advanced skill level. . 5 inch $50 6 inch $60 7 inch $70 Payment will be accepted the day of the event with Venmo, Zelle or cash.

Immerse yourself in the unmatched virtuosity of our talented musicians as they create a tapestry of musical brilliance within the historic setting of the Brook Arts Center. Join us for an afternoon of magic and exploration, commemorating 49 years of the Brook Orchestra under the baton of Thomas Vacca, featuring the captivating soloist Kevin Maa on the cello. Revel in classical treasures such as Edward Elgar's "Imperial March," Camille Saint-Saëns' "Cello Concerto No. 1," and Johannes Brahms' "Symphony No. 1 in C Minor."

The Raritan Valley Symphonic Band: 40th Anniversary The Raritan Valley Symphonic Band celebrates the 40th anniversary of their first concert at their annual spring concert on Sunday, April 28. Musical Director William Berz will lead the band’s performance of five works originally performed at the first concert in March 1984. Former musical directors Jerry Rife and Christopher Sumner have been invited to be guest conductors for two additional works. The concert will be held at Franklin High School, 500 Elizabeth Ave., Somerset NJ at 4 pm and admission is free. RVSB comprises about 65 musicians from the northern and central New Jersey area. Band membership includes professional musicians and music educators, as well as amateur musicians ranging in age from high school through retirees.
