Figure It Out!: All Level Figure Drawing – Session #2
Saturdays, 9 AM - 12 PM Session #2: Mar 29th, April 5th, 12th Open to artists of all drawing levels, this class offers a welcoming, light-hearted, yet academic approach to decoding the human figure. Participants will draw from a live nude model in each session and loosen up with quick gestures, then move into several short poses (2 minutes and 5 minutes) as well as longer poses (up to 1 hour in 20-minute segments). Anatomy of the skeletal and muscular systems will be observed to aid in rendering the model’s shapes and emotive expression. Using different drawing implements, successful erasing, and achieving balanced compositions on paper will be addressed. In reference to historical and master drawings, we will discuss accurate measurement for proportions, perspective, framing, and positioning as integral parts of understanding how to capture fleeting moments in space while developing your style quickly. The instructor will provide individual guidance or feedback, and at the end of each session, the participants will show their drawings for constructive feedback in a group setting. Students provide: Large drawing board Pad of 18”x24” Newsprint Paper Pad of 18”x24” Drawing Paper Vine Charcoal Drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 6B, F) Rubber kneaded eraser Rubber eraser
Nature Days Enrichment Programs
Nature Days Enrichment Programs At Nature Days, we let kids be kids as they explore, create, and discover! Our educators guide children through structured and unstructured learning and play time outdoors, helping children develop the creativity and critical thinking needed to build long-lasting connections with nature. Age appropriate activities let children develop cognitive, social, and emotional skills, encourage cooperative play, practice positive social behavior and communication skills. Our programs are made up of small groups of children with a low student to teacher ratio, allowing each child to get the attention they need. Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve has plenty of space to explore with quiet forests, trickling streams, colorful meadows, big skies, fresh air, and even some magical places where fairies are thought to live! Ages 3-5 Adult Participation Optional
