Open Mic Night at Flounder Brewing
Open Mic Night at Flounder Brewing We have been asked more times than beers we’ve made. When will we host an open mic night at the Flounder barns? Finally! Got an amazing musical talent you’ve been wanting to share? Want to just play a few songs in an amazing space? We are looking for great local musicians who want to show off their talents in their hometown brewery. Please review our guidelines and be sure to register. Please pre-register HERE - you must pre-register for EACH open mic night as we post them. Participants must be 18 years or older. Each participant has 15 minutes. Musicians should be acoustic. Participants will be randomly called to perform. Please arrive prior to the start. We provide the PA with 2 XLR inputs and 1-1/4”. We have 1 DI box. You are responsible to bring and hook up any additional equipment. Our system does have phantom power. We reserve the right not to have a participant perform or to stop and ask a participant to leave if we find any content offensive. Comedy at Verve with Chris Gethard Stand-up Comedy show at Verve Restaurant featuring the best and brightest comedians from around the country! Headliner: Chris Gethard! Chris Gethard is a comedian, actor, and author who’s been doing comedy stuff for over twenty years. He’s the host of the Beautiful/Anonymous podcast, the former host of legendary public access television show “The Chris Gethard Show”, and had a special on HBO called Career Suicide which won multiple awards! He’s acted on shows like The Office, Broad City, Space Force, Parks and Recreation, and a bunch more. He’s been in some movies like Don’t Think Twice, The Heat, The Other Guys, and Ghostbusters. But mostly, he’s a regular guy from New Jersey who likes traveling around and connecting with other human beings! Intro to Birding
Intro to Birding Woodpeckers, wrens, and waxwings—Oh my! Learn the basics of bird identification using visual and behavioral cues, along with some common songs and vocalizations. Each participant will receive a basic guide to the common birds of Duke Farms. It’s a great way to get to know our feathered friends while learning more about the natural habitats that support them. Bring binoculars if you have them. We will also be suggesting apps on your phone that you might enjoy using. This program is appropriate for adults. Please dress for the weather, this class is entirely outdoors. Long pants and tick deterrents are recommended. Participants should expect to be walking about 2 miles on various trail types for the full duration of the class. Meet in front of the Farm Barn Orientation Center for check-in. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before the start of class. We cannot accommodate late arrivals and the class will depart on time. Program Preparation Please dress for the forecasted weather and bring water and anything else you may need. This class is entirely outdoors. Participants should expect to travel about 2 miles on pavement, gravel, or flat trails for the full duration of the class.
