These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Nature Infused Yoga at Scherman Hoffman Led by Kristin Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration is required. There will be no class 03/30, 05/11, or 05/25. Ticket sales end at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. The two-day living history program explores the American Revolutionary War during the timeframe of the Battle of Bound Brook and the foraging wars of 1777. Learn about and experience this important period in New Jersey’s and America’s history. Multiple activities across venues include 18th Century Soldier’s Encampment and Street Battles, camp life portrayed by living history reenactors as American and British troops, sutlers, and others of that period. “English Style” Collagraph Prints with Len Merlo Saturday, April 13th, 11am-4pm Members: $70, Non-Members: $85, Material Fee: $50 In this course, artists will learn how to combine rich tonalities and textures with the mysterious effects of Collagraph (Relief) and Drypoint (Intaglio) techniques. Participants will prepare, create, and print two plates that use both relief and intaglio methods. All materials, mediums, and clean-up materials used in this course will be non-toxic, and they will fulfill the mission of our non-toxic and environmentally safe initiative. About the Instructor: Len Merlo is a full time artist and activist living and working in South Plainfield, NJ. He has 25 years of experience teaching art in NJ Public Schools and has taught workshops in ceramics, sculpture and printmaking. He served on the Board of Directors at The Print Center of New Jersey, and The Arts Guild of New Jersey. He is also a member and workshop instructor a Frontline Arts.
