This July 4th weekend, while everyone is busy remembering America’s past, we hope you’ll also remember the people working to preserve Somerset County’s history every day. On Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 1:05 pm, the Somerset Patriots will take the field as the Somerset Semiquincentennials in special commemorative uniforms celebrating America’s 250th anniversary — and the Somerset County Historical Society has been selected as the featured non-profit for the game. A portion of every ticket sold through our fundraiser benefits the Somerset County Historical Society, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving local history, maintaining a historic home, and sharing Somerset County’s stories with the community. This is one of only four special Semiquincentennials games this season, making it a unique chance to enjoy baseball, celebrate history, and support local preservation efforts all at once. We know there are plenty of ways to spend a holiday weekend, but we hope you’ll consider spending part of yours with us at the ballpark. History has always mattered to us — and we’re grateful to everyone who helps keep it alive.

For the 6:30pm movie, come early at 5:30pm for FREE movie-themed arts and crafts for the kids! The arts and crafts will take place in our upstairs accessible Studio space. Welcome to the world of Minecraft! Four misfits—Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)—find themselves pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. Follow along as they meet expert crafter Steve (Jack Black), and use their unique creative skills to craft their way back home in A Minecraft Movie! State Theatre New Jersey's FREE Summer Movies Series features morning and evening weekday screenings. Experience your favorite films on our gigantic 46’ screen, with our state-of-the-art sound system, in our historic theater! All movies will include Spanish subtitles. Help us keep our space safe and enjoyable for everyone! We kindly ask that all guests refrain from throwing objects or disruptive behavior to ensure a great experience for all. Anyone causing a disruption may be asked to leave the venue.

Looking to try something new? Join us for a card making session! Under the guidance of Stampin’ Up demonstrator Elaine Considine, you will make 3 beautiful greeting cards ready to send to a friend! Two sessions available on July 7th- 11:30 -1:30 and 6-8. Bring your smile and a pair of scissors… everything else will be provided! JCC Members $30.00 for 3 cards.
