Build a Clay Tree Workshops are 2 hours long and held on Sundays at 12pm, 2pm or 4pm at our studio in Branchburg NJ. Let your creativity flow as you create with slabs of clay. Finished pieces are decorative as well as functional. Many design options are available. All workshops are appropriate for beginners or advanced potters ages 8 and up. Read below to find out how this experience truly integrates beer and yoga in one of the most picturesque tap rooms in New Jersey. Tickets are required and the link is below. Join us every second Sunday! Beer+Yoga come together for a unique 60 minute yoga class to open up the senses in Flounder Brewing Company’s private loft! Yoga is known for increasing flexibility, calming the mind, and releasing stress; but yoga can also be used to ignite the 5 senses. Through yoga we’ll open up the five senses and discover how movement, breathe, and mindfulness can increase our flavor and scent receptors allowing us to smell and taste all of the notes of beer! Instructor Savannah Mignella will lead us flowing through this all-level friendly yoga class open to everyone 21+. Green Day's American Idiot The Brook Arts Center Community Players open their current production of Green Day’s legendary Tony and Grammy Award-winning rock opera, American Idiot, this Friday at the Brook Arts Center! Performances will run from November 1st to November 10th. American Idiot features music by Green Day; lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong; and book by Billie Joe Armstrong & Michael Mayer. Directed by Christopher J. Guell, Music Directed by David F. Shirley, and Choreographed by Tyron Howard, American Idiot follows the exhilarating journey of a new generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post 9/11 world. Filling out the creative team is Leah Krupnick as Assistant Director and Costumer, Bradford Lindsey as Scenic Designer and Properties, Sam Lazofsky as Lighting Designer, and Elaina Misciagna as Stage Manager. American Idiot is produced in collaboration with the Media & Performance Collective and Brook Arts Center with Andrew S. Golden as Producer. Balladeer Linda Russell: An 18th Century Musical Yuletide Celebration Ease into the season with a joyful musical celebration of the coming holidays! Playing hammered and mountain dulcimers, Linda will trace the history of Christmas in the American Colonies through voiced carols, hymns, dance tunes, and drinking songs interwoven with Yuletide poems, folklore and recipes. Sing along and get into the holiday spirit! Linda Russell explores history through music. Having served for many years as a balladeer for the National Park Service at Federal Hall, the site of Washington’s inauguration, Ms. Russell now takes her music to historic sites, schools and festivals throughout the country. New York City appearances have included Lincoln Center, The New York Historical Society and the Carnegie Hall Folk Festival. Raritan Headwaters Lantern Walk November 10th, 2024 4:00 – 7:00 pm Rain Date – November 17th Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve 2121 Larger Cross Road, Bedminster, NJ Raritan Headwaters continues the tradition of celebrating a historic European festival celebrating autumn at the end of the agricultural year and the beginning of the harvest. Festive music plays as we carry our lanterns through the meadows of Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve on a moonlit night. Stay tuned for more information! Raritan Headwaters is a nonprofit conservation organization protecting land and water. Our vision is that everyone within our reach has access to safe, clean water that is swimmable, fishable, and above all, drinkable. All proceeds benefit our conservation mission and programs.  

Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art

Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”
