Agatha Christie’s “Black Coffee”
Agatha Christie's "Black Coffee" The Lord Stirling Theater Company will perform Agatha Christie’s “Black Coffee” in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. “Black Coffee” will open on Friday, October 18, at 7:30PM, with additional performances on October 19 at 7:30PM, October 20 at 2:00PM, October 25 and 26 at 7:30PM, and October 27 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $25 general admission, $23 for seniors (65 and over) and students, $20 for Farmstead Arts members, and $15 for children under 12. An accomplished physicist has constructed a workable formula for one of the deadliest weapons on earth. After the theft of this formula and a suspicious murder, the stage is set for the legendary detective Hercule Poirot to get involved in the case. Poirot, along with the help of Captain Hastings and Inspector Japp, must figure out who committed the murder (or murders?) and stole the formula, as well as sort through the endless red herrings, subplots, and wonderful twists and turns in true Agatha Christie fashion. Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”

This exhibition highlights artistic expression as a vital healing tool, helping individuals process emotions, share their journeys, and reconnect with themselves and their communities. Through painting, sculpture, photography and more, participants find strength, resilience, and hope. “The Art of Recovery” celebrates how creativity fosters personal growth, reduces stigma, and unites communities.

Glow-in-the-dark Fish Lantern Workshop Come join for a fun workshop where we'll be making glow-in-the-dark fish puppets that light up the night! Glow-in-the-dark Fish Puppets Workshop Come join for a fun and creative workshop where you will make your very own upcycled glow-in-the-dark fish puppet! This hands-on event will take place at Raritan Headwaters' headquarters, Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve in Bedminster, NJ. Let your imagination run wild as you design and create your unique fish puppet out of repurposed materials; we hope that participants will donate their fish to be displayed at our popular Lantern Walk festival on November 3, and then collect the puppets afterwards to take home! Folks that donate their fish for viewing at Lantern Walk will recieve a discounted ticket to the event! This is part of a series of three workshops; you can attend one, or attend them all! This workshop was inspired by a series of workshops that our Director of Education Lauren Theis attended at ArtYard in Frenchtown!
