Agatha Christie’s “Black Coffee”
Agatha Christie's "Black Coffee" The Lord Stirling Theater Company will perform Agatha Christie’s “Black Coffee” in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. “Black Coffee” will open on Friday, October 18, at 7:30PM, with additional performances on October 19 at 7:30PM, October 20 at 2:00PM, October 25 and 26 at 7:30PM, and October 27 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $25 general admission, $23 for seniors (65 and over) and students, $20 for Farmstead Arts members, and $15 for children under 12. An accomplished physicist has constructed a workable formula for one of the deadliest weapons on earth. After the theft of this formula and a suspicious murder, the stage is set for the legendary detective Hercule Poirot to get involved in the case. Poirot, along with the help of Captain Hastings and Inspector Japp, must figure out who committed the murder (or murders?) and stole the formula, as well as sort through the endless red herrings, subplots, and wonderful twists and turns in true Agatha Christie fashion. Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”

These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The 103rd Far Hills Race The 103rd running of the Far Hills Race Meeting (a.k.a. The Hunt) will take place on Saturday, October 19th, 2024. For more than a century, this annual gathering at Moorland Farm is a highlight of the fall season and attracts thousands of spectators who return, year after year, to watch the world’s finest steeplechases, reconnect with family and friends, network, support worthy causes and make memories to last a lifetime. A general admission ticket to access the event grounds and a friend’s reserved parking space. NJ Audubon: The Fungi Kingdom Led by Dorothy Smullen, Teacher/Naturalist, former president of the New Jersey Mycological Association Join Teacher/naturalist Dorothy Smullen for an all-day NJ Audubon Institute For Field Naturalists workshop about all things "mushroom." Using keys, field guides, powerpoint presentations, and a trail walk we will cover the basics of identification, and learn about the importance of fungi for the ecosystem and the future.
