Ukrainian Pysanka (Easter Egg) Workshop
NJ, United StatesDuring the period of Lent preceding Pascha, or Easter, Ukrainians write pysanky, or decorate eggs, using ancient symbols. From the deep past, these patterns were thought to imbue the egg with magical powers and ward away evil spirits, and they later took on Christian meanings. Join us at the Center to continue this age-old tradition as we get ready to welcome spring. The workshop is open to adults and children 12 and older. All materials included. Seating is limited to 15 participants per session, so register early! The UHEC and the Exhibit "Ukraine 1933: A Cookbook" will be open hours indicated. Ceramic Pipe Making Workshop
NJ, United StatesHand sculpt two working pipes using clay under the watchful guidance of experienced clay artists. Many design ideas are available or bring your own creativity! Learn to apply various decorative techniques, such as underglaze painting, carving and attaching 3D elements. Pieces will be available for pick up about 3 weeks later.

Laser Pop Rock

Songs include "Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors, “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Jae Jepsen, and "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift to name just a few. (recommended for ages 6-12)
The Sky Above – Sensory Friendly
NJ, United StatesWelcome to a comfortable and judgement-free zone to learn some astronomy. This sensory-friendly astronomy and music show is specially designed for families with children on the Autism spectrum and other developmental disorders. Neurotypical children are welcome as well. The program is presented on a kindergarten level, but all ages are welcome. Enjoy music, laser lights, stories, and information about the planets, Moon, and constellations. During the show, the doors remain open so children may leave and return if they choose. Lights are kept dim (instead of dark) and music is at a consistent level.
