    Turkish Festival

    TurkishFest is a two-day cultural festival celebrating Turkish food, art and community, hosted by Central Jersey Community Center in Somerset, New Jersey. Previously scheduled for May 23-24, the festival has been rescheduled to June 6-7 due to weather conditions. Attendees can enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine including Adana Kebab, Shish Kebab, Chicken Shish Kebab, Cag Kebab, Gyro-Doner Kebab, Turkish Vegan Cig Kofte, Kunefe, Baklava, and much more. The festival also features live concerts, traditional dances, performing arts, a kids' train ride, playground, cultural dialog booths, and traditional crafts. Admission and parking are free.

  • Rochambeau Trails Day

    The Montgomery Rev 250 Committee will stage an event at the Van Horn Park pavilion on June 6 at 11 am to commemorate the 1780 march through our area by George Washington and his troops with allied French forces led by the Compte de Rochambeau to their decisive victory over the British in Yorktown, Virginia. Montgomery resident Paul Blodgett, chairman of Montgomery's Revolution 250 Committee, said "George Washington and the Continental Army marched through Rocky Hill and Montgomery Township (both known then as the Western Precinct) four times" The event will include a short talk by Anna Mancilla of the Van Harlingen Historical Society and Paul Blodgett.

    Green Brook is celebrating our 250th anniversary on June 6, 2026, at Washington Rock State Park, from 11AM to 4PM. There will be many festivities and attractions, including: NJ Fife and Drum; Outwater Militia; Colonial Medicine/Battlefield; General George Washington – who will give a wonderful lecture; DAR Chapter; Plainfield Historical Society; Recitation of the Declaration of Independence by a local High School Student; and lots more! Capital Craft will be catering the event for purchase and Danny’s Ice Cream will be there for purchase. * Shuttle bus service will be available from Green Brook Middle School to the event site at Washington Rock State Park.
