Welcome World to George Washington’s Rockingham
Rockingham State Historic Site 84 Laurel Avenue, Franklin Township, United StatesNew Jersey welcomes the world to Rockingham State Historic Site for the 250th Birthday of the United States. Visit the historic New Jersey Dutch Barn for an illustrated introduction to George Washington’s final headquarters of the Revolutionary War. Handle reproduction artifacts of the Revolutionary War. Sign up for tours of the grounds. Rockingham was George Washington's final wartime headquarters. Arriving from New York, Washington stayed at Rockingham from August 23, 1783 and left November 10, 1783. While at Rockingham, Washington entertained guests, issued his Farewell Orders to the Army, and learned the United States became formally independent with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. The historic house remains closed due to construction for stabilization of the south elevation. ? Revolution NJ is New Jersey’s official observance of the 250th anniversaries of New Jersey’s first Constitution July 2, 2026 and the American Revolution in New Jersey from 2024 – 2033.

Neshanic Garden Club is one of the 99 Garden Clubs in NJ who report to The Garden Club of N.J. www.gardenclubofnewjersey.org. The Garden Club of New Jersey, Inc. provides education, resources and opportunities for adults and youth members to expand the love of gardening and floral design and encourages active participation in civic, environmental and historic preservation projects to protect the past for the future.

Meet the Continental 4th Light Dragoons, Moylan’s Horse
Van Horne House 941 E Main St, Bridgewater, United StatesColonel Stephen Moylan, in command of Washington's 4th Light Dragoons (Calvary) will be at the Van Horne House in Bridgewater for a special event! On September 12th, 1778, Colonel Stephen Moylan married Mary Van Horne. Colonel Moylan, an Irishman from County Cork, coined the phrase "The United States of America" On September 12th, 2026, from 10am until 3pm, The members of the 4LD will present a day of fun and a close up look at horses, uniforms and drills! 10:00am To Boot & Saddle--The Dragoons will mount their horses and start their Patrols. 11:00 am Drill and Demonstrations. 12:00-3pm Dragoons will address the spectators, make small patrols and entertain the crowds.
