Drawing in Depth Course *Kids 9-11, 9-week art course starting Tuesdays September 19 - November 14, 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm This program is designed for young artists with a love of drawing who want to deepen and develop their skills. Working from photographs or a different still life each week, or imaginary themes, students will learn about the elements of a good drawing and develop a firm foundation of form, composition, proportion, value, perspective and line quality. The class explores the basic principles of visual art, art historical periods and styles, and the work of well-known artists. The teacher will provide frequent demonstrations. Children are encouraged to repeat this class to continue to build drawing skills. NOTE: There is no class on 10/31. Painting in Depth Course *Kids ages 5-8, 11 week course starting Wednesday's September 20 - November 29, 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm This program is designed for young artists who love painting and who want to deepen and develop their skills. The class explores painting in acrylics, watercolors, and tempera with attention to the use of color, light, shadow, composition, and brush handling. Students will work from still life arrangements or favorite photographs. The teacher will provide frequent demonstrations. Students will also draw inspiration from the art on view in the galleries. Children are encouraged to repeat this class to continue building painting skills. NOTE: There is no class on 10/4, 11/22. Painting Intensive Course *Teens 8 week course starting Wednesday's September 20 - November 08, 04:30 pm - 06:00 pm This program is designed for young artists who love painting and want to deepen and develop their skills. The class explores painting with attention to the use of color, light, shadow, composition, and brush handling. The teacher will provide frequent demonstrations.
