Psych by Lisa Rowe
NJ, United States"Psych” is set in the office of psychiatrist Dr. Robert Smith where, one by one, the cast of bizarre characters assemble. Edward Baxter was a successful psychiatrist, beloved by his many patients—until he was framed for murder. Now on the run with an assumed identity and a suspicious new wife, his luck is running out. Edward seeks help from Dr. Robert Smith, a fellow psychiatrist and a man with inner demons of his own. When Edward’s meeting with Dr. Smith goes wildly awry and leaves Edward clinging precariously to his last shred of sanity, Dr. Smith’s patient Lydia (a goodhearted psychic woman with clues to Edward’s past) arrives for her appointment to find Edward in big trouble. Despite the chaos created by unexpected visitors and quirks in Lydia’s psychic powers, Lydia does her best to gain Edward’s trust and help him find justice as his world rapidly approaches critical mass. Psych’s humor is broad in scope including slapstick, wordplay and a bit of dark humor.

Brook Orchestra presents Rossini, Suk, & Dvorak
NJ, United StatesJoin us for the beautiful sounds of Rossini, Suk, and Dvo?ák played by our very own Brook Orchestra under the Direction of Thomas Vacca. This powerful set will invoke your senses of wonder and awe. Rossini's Overture for William Tell was designed to present the day in the life of a Switzerland in revolt. As the piece accelerates it introduces a determined galloping energy. Suk's Scherzo Fantastique is a relatively short piece that plays many jokes on the listener by misleading the expectations of the form. Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor is nicknamed "from the New World" because Dvorak wrote it during the time he spent in the U.S. in the 1890's. It has been said that Dvo?ák was inspired by the "wide open spaces" of America. Tickets are on sale now at brookarts.org. Children & Students: $10 Adults 65+: $15 Adults: $20 Our Brook Orchestra merchandise will be for sale - which makes a great gift for the Brook Orchestra fan in your life!
