This can be anything that is stitched by you and is completely optional but the more the merrier!NEW THIS YEAR***We would like to add to the spirit of giving at our Christmas Party and what better way than to have a Secret Santa. Please bring a new, unused wrapped gift with a value of $20 and we will all participate in the spirit of giving. Of course there will be a twist to this too.There is no fee to join the party however, seating is very limited with only a few spaces left so I must ask that you please call or drop us an email to RSVP. Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”
Festival of Trees 46th Anniversary
Festival of Trees 46th Anniversary December is the time to visit the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center (EEC) to welcome winter and get into the holiday spirit! The festival is an indoor exhibit of decorated trees by various community groups and individuals alike. Enjoy holiday music and relax while viewing the beautiful trees! Please call 908-722-1200 (ext. 5328) or email mjuhasz@scparks.org to participate as an exhibitor and decorate a tree, to make group reservations or for more information. Suggested donation: $5 per person. Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 29, 2024, 9:00am-4:30pm **Please note the EEC will be closed December 24 & 25** See you in December at the EEC – the perfect lead into the holiday season!
