NJ Audubon – Lichens up Close
NJ, United StatesLed by Dorothy Smullen, Teacher/Naturalist. Celebrate Earth Day afternoon getting to know the lichens which are all around us in cities, suburbs, and forests, but we hardly notice them. This workshop will cover their diversity, importance in history and to animals, and their role as indicators of air pollution. Hands-on identification of the three major groups and some common lichens will precede a trail walk. This is a perfect workshop for anyone who loves the outdoors. COST: $15 members, $20 nonmembers. One person per ticket. Ticket sale ends 4/21 at 4:00 PM. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate.
