Santa @ the Commons Presented by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset 11/11 – 12/24, Center Court He’s back! Santa will begin welcoming children of all ages for visits and photos filled with holiday magic. Located in Center Court on the shopping center’s Lower Level, visits to Santa Celebration will begin Saturday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 24. Set amongst 25 garland-topped light curtains (each adorned with thousands of white, glistening lights) and candy-cane inspired twists cascading from high above, Santa Celebration will feature an authentic Kris Kringle perched in his grand velvet chair on an elevated platform behind his adoring guests. Fungi Paper Making
Fungi Paper Making 2 Day Class Join Dorothy Smullen, teacher naturalist and instructor at New York Botanical Gardens for a two-part program on making paper from certain polypore fungi. We will make the paper on November 18th and then use the paper on December 2nd to create collage, sculpture and greeting cards. Preregistration is required by November 17 4:00pm $40 for New Jersey Audubon members and $50 for non-members Limited to 10 participants so register early! This is a special event
Eat, Create, Share
Eat, Create, Share (Adult) Join us for this monthly program as we meet new people, try new things, create taste sensations, get crafty, and have fun together. In October, we will focus on the fall harvest and enjoy a homemade organic salad, tasty sourdough bread, and fresh pressed apple cider. In November, we will sample some recipes with mushrooms as the star ingredient. Each participant will also go home with a mushroom growing kit. In December, candle making is the hands-on, creative activity. Sign up for one or all three sessions! $23 per senior $25 per adult
Ceramic Ornament Making Workshop
Ceramic Ornament Making Workshop In this creative workshop, students will learn to make holiday ornaments or wall hangings to give as a gift or hang in your home year round. Students will be taught to roll clay slabs, cut out shapes, and then add details such as texture, glaze, and decorate using transfer and carving techniques. A variety of shapes will be available and students will be able to create 3-5 ornaments, and have fun while doing it! After the workshop, we will fire your pieces for you and coat the top with clear glaze. You will be able to pick up your finished pieces 2 weeks later. All supplies included in this workshop
