Festival of Trees 46th Anniversary December is the time to visit the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center (EEC) to welcome winter and get into the holiday spirit! The festival is an indoor exhibit of decorated trees by various community groups and individuals alike. Enjoy holiday music and relax while viewing the beautiful trees! Please call 908-722-1200 (ext. 5328) or email mjuhasz@scparks.org to participate as an exhibitor and decorate a tree, to make group reservations or for more information. Suggested donation: $5 per person. Donate new, unwrapped Toys while you visit for Toys For Tots!  

Nature Days Enrichment Programs At Nature Days, we let kids be kids as they explore, create, and discover! Our educators guide children through structured and unstructured learning and play time outdoors, helping children develop the creativity and critical thinking needed to build long-lasting connections with nature. Age appropriate activities let children develop cognitive, social, and emotional skills, encourage cooperative play, practice positive social behavior and communication skills. Our programs are made up of small groups of children with a low student to teacher ratio, allowing each child to get the attention they need. Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve has plenty of space to explore with quiet forests, trickling streams, colorful meadows, big skies, fresh air, and even some magical places where fairies are thought to live! Ages 3-5 Adult Participation Optional

Swamp Kids at the EEC (Ages 8-10) Become a Swamp Kid! This program is designed to let the child’s curiosity and passion guide their learning. Nature is a great teacher for this outdoor, afterschool series! $40 for 4-day session per person
