Creative Women’s Showcase
Creative Women's Showcase The Center is pleased to present the Creative Women’s Showcase exhibition on view November 1 – December 8, 2024, curated by Ilisa Zollenberg. Exhibiting artists Serena Bocchino (Basking Ridge), Meeta Garg (Basking Ridge), Ivey Kampouris (Bridgewater), Grace Martoccia (Basking Ridge), Seanna Noonan (Basking Ridge), Carolina W. Rivera (Califon), Isabell Villacis (South Bound Brook), and Ilisa Zollenberg (Basking Ridge) will showcase their work in mixed media, pastels, acrylic, photography, and more. Ilisa Zollenberg, Curator, says “Art is a powerful communicator. It connects us to each other. It introduces us to strangers. It is a storyteller of the soul. It entices the audience to look further into a message that needs to be told.” There will be a special opening reception, free and open to the public, on November 1 from 5:30-9pm with a celebration of women artists and business owners with an art exhibition, vendor sale, and meet & greet.

The Art of Recovery: Connecting Through Transformative Creativity In observance of September as National Recovery Month The Center in partnership with Community in Connection is pleased to present “The Art of Recovery.” “The Art of Recovery” showcases the transformative power of creativity in personal recovery. This exhibition highlights artistic expression as a vital healing tool, helping individuals process emotions, share their journeys, and reconnect with themselves and their communities. Through painting, sculpture, photography and more, participants find strength, resilience, and hope. “The Art of Recovery” celebrates how creativity fosters personal growth, reduces stigma, and unites communities.

Santa at the Commons Santa will begin welcoming children of all ages for visits and photos filled with holiday magic. Located in Center Court on the shopping center’s Lower Level, visits to Santa Celebration will begin Saturday, Nov. 16 through Tuesday, Dec. 24 ‘Tis the season for Santa, shopping, and holiday events. Photos with Santa November 16 – December 24 Santa Cares Day Sunday Dec 1st 10am – 12pm Bridgewater Commons welcomes families to a sensory-friendly Santa experience. Make holiday memories in a soothing environment. PET Photos with Santa Tuesday December 3 & Thursday December 5 3pm-7pm Bring your furry, four-legged family members to meet Santa! Cats and dogs are welcome with their pet parents on a leash or in a carrier. A percentage of sales benefit the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.

Old English Christmas at the Old Dutch Parsonage Visit a festive Old Dutch Parsonage for a reading and discussion of passages from Washington Irving's “Old English Christmas” in The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. Trace the history of the holiday among the colonial Dutch before the American Revolution and the contributions of Washington Irving’s work to the customs of the holiday season today.

Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art
Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”
