Morning Walk at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. One person per ticket. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please bring binoculars if you have them.

Art in the Garden Accomplished Artist Donna Souren will lead classes at Leonard J. Buck Garden and Colonial Park Gardens to capture natural beauty in watercolor. Students will be guided in choosing a location when painting outdoors, paint application, mixing colors, composition and how to create a finished watercolor painting. Basic drawing skills are recommended. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Please contact the garden office for an art supply list and bring your lunch. Weekend Walkers

Weekend Walkers: Demott Lane to Landing Lane FREE weekend morning walks along the D&R Canal towpath and/or nearby areas. Join us for our “Weekend Walkers” series of modest hikes along the canal towpath and nearby areas. Each section of the canal has a unique character and history which will be highlighted by our seasonal trail interpreter. We invite you to come enjoy some outdoor time with us and learn a bit about the historic and natural resources of each location listed below. These weekend walks will be moderately paced - at about 2 miles/hour - and range from 3.5 to 5.5 miles. These longer walks will take about 3 - 3 1/2 hours, progress at a leisurely pace and return to the original meeting place. Children are welcome but those under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Weekend Walkers will meet promptly at the designated parking areas at 9:30 AM. Registered participants will be contacted if program is to be canceled due to inclement weather, insufficient interest or other unforeseen circumstances. Learn what a solar eclipse is, where to best see one, and how to view it safely.  (Recommended for ages 8-adult)

The Sky Above (sensory-friendly) A special astronomy and music show designed for families with children on the Autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities. These sensory-friendly shows, which are appropriate for audiences of all ages, will provide a comfortable and judgment-free space that is welcoming to all families. During the show, the doors will remain open so children may freely leave and return if they choose. Lights will be left dim (instead of dark) and the audio will be lowered and kept at a consistent level.  “The Sky Above” show includes music, laser lights, stories, and information about the planets, the Moon and constellations. Content is presented on a kindergarten level.

10 Year Anniversary Oktoberfest @ Flounder

Join us all weekend long as we celebrate 10 years since our first official commercial release! All ages except Saturday after 5 is 21+ It all starts Friday with some awesome beer and we have Walt Syzonenko playing the polka hits on the accordion 6-9. Saturday we'll be outside in the horseshoe so bring the blankets and camp chairs and we've got the Flounder Brass Band playing the traditional Bavarian tunes 1-4. Please note children are welcome but must be with you at all times, for everyone's safety please leave the footballs, soccer balls, etc at home. Outdoors will close at 5. Then Saturday night starting at 5 we are 21+ only inside and we welcome all the way from Pittsburgh the Garrett Tatano Band bringing traditional German mixed with some Rocktoberfest and we will be dancing to close at 10! Then we bring it down a bit on Sunday with a special Brewer's Hour at 11 where we will be featuring a special cask beer. Tickets are required for the Brewer's Hour and can be found at bio.site/flounderbrewing - Delta House members do not need tickets. Special releases all weekend long!!
