Discover the wonders of Somerset County in Duke Farms by strolling the park or renting a bike through their bikeshare program. Explore the orchid range that is home to thousands or rare and native orchids, the arboretum, and the Japanese-style meditation garden. Heading over on a Sunday? The trails are closed but be sure to enjoy the Farmers Market and tons of locally sourced produce and goods! On Saturday’s, a parking permit must be reserved before heading over.
Iron Peak Sports & Events (6 minutes)
A recreational facility that makes a wonderful prelude to Sipping your way through Somerset County. Check out over a dozen climbing walls, the ninja course, aerial ropes, full-size basketball courts, their arcade, and more. Nothing like some friendly competition between friends before heading over to one of our craft beverage locations!
Sourland Mountains (7 minutes or varies by entrance)
Undisturbed recreation at its finest. Adventure seekers will find hiking, birding, bouldering, and horseback riding throughout the preserve. You may also mountain bike at this location, but please be advised the rocks may be slippery and would advise this trail for more experienced cyclists.
Norz-Hill Farm & Market (12 minutes)
Shop local Jersey fresh produce at the roadside stand or say hi to the many farm animals from their goats, llamas, zonkeys, peacocks, cows, steer, and more! In the fall enjoy a family fun day at the farm and pick your own pumpkin.
Hidden Spring Lavender Farm (15 minutes)
Take a serene trip to the picturesque setting of Hidden Spring Lavender Farm. Peek bloom is June-July but the facility is open year-round. After checking out the lavender fields (open on the weekends) Stop in and see the alpacas and walk them around the property and check out the boutique that offers handcrafted products including creams, essential oils, aromatherapy items, and more.
There is so much to do at Colonial Park in Somerset! Here for fishing or to take your dog to the dog park. Got some little ones to entertain? Check out the duck paddleboats and the putting course or if you’re out and about on those warmer days, cool off in the splash park! Slow it down and take a stroll through the rose garden and the perennial garden.
A destination for the outdoor adventurer. The trails at Six Mile Run are perfect for mountain bikers and hikers alike. These trails offer scenic routes along the D&R Canal that exemplify the area’s history. A great appetizer for your Sip & See adventures.
A fun and unique way to spend a morning. Head to What a View Farm for some yoga with goats. You’ll catch some great views in the Sourland Mountains and this lovely setting. *Reservations must be made in advance
Rockingham Historic Site (17 minutes)
Rockingham was the headquarters of General Washington for three months in 1783 while he attended sessions of the Continental Congress in Princeton. Washington wrote his “Farewell Orders to the Armies of the United States” from this house.
