The Rocky Horror Picture Show unfolds a wildly entertaining tale of a prudish and newly engaged couple whose fateful night takes a bizarre turn when their car breaks down during a storm. Seeking refuge, they stumble upon the mysterious mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite mad scientist hosting the annual Transylvanian Convention Ball. Throughout the night, guests adorned in elaborate costumes showcase dazzling dances and rock songs. The couple soon realizes they've landed on a peculiar evening – the grand reveal of Frank-N-Furter's latest creation: the ultimate male, "Rocky Horror." Ryan Radice: A Nest of American Hornets: New Jersey’s Forage War of 1777 Learn the fascinating story of local history during the American Revolution … Join at the Abraham Staats House for a talk by historian Ryan Radice: “A Nest of American Hornets: New Jersey’s Forage War of 1777” Sat., March 9, 2024 * 2:30PM ~ 5PM * In person & via Zoom $10 pp w advance reservation/$15 at door While 18th century armies typically ceased fighting during the winter, that would not be the case in New Jersey during the winter of 1777. Instead, following Washington’s victories at Trenton and Princeton, a violent “petit guerre” characterized by foraging raids, skirmishing, and guerilla-style warfare was waged on the plain below the Watchung mountains. Mr. Radice will examine this period, known as the “Forage War,” through the personal experiences of Continentals, Militia, British and Hessian soldiers, as well as civilians.
