The Art of Recovery: Connecting Through Transformative Creativity In observance of September as National Recovery Month The Center in partnership with Community in Connection is pleased to present “The Art of Recovery.” “The Art of Recovery” showcases the transformative power of creativity in personal recovery. This exhibition highlights artistic expression as a vital healing tool, helping individuals process emotions, share their journeys, and reconnect with themselves and their communities. Through painting, sculpture, photography and more, participants find strength, resilience, and hope. “The Art of Recovery” celebrates how creativity fosters personal growth, reduces stigma, and unites communities.

Carnevale Farm Wertsville Road, Hillsborough Township, NJ, United StatesAg in Action Come learn about Agriculture in Somerset County NJ at Carnevale Farm. Somerset County Board of Agriculture presents our 2024 Agriculture in Action hosted by the Carnevale Family in Hillsborough, NJ. The Carnevale Farm is a preserved Horse Farm in Hillsborough, NJ. They produce their own hay and care for several horses. This Event is rain or shine. There is a cost of $5.00 per family. So join us to learn more about farming in Somerset County. Again, our hosts will be opening their farm on September 7, 2024 10 am to 2 pm. In addition to the Carnevale's opening their farm for the public to tour, they event will be supported by the Board of Ag, a local veterinarian, farriers, equine nutrient, the County Agricultural Development Board and more. There will be horses, and hay demonstrations. There will be food available for purchase. We are asking for $5.00 per family to help offset some expenses and the balance will go towards the Tom Everett Scholarship Fund. We are looking forward to hosting you at our event and teaching you about Somerset County NJ Agriculture.
Walk an Alpaca – Saturday Mornings
Walk an Alpaca - Saturday Mornings PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!! NON REFUNDABLE!!!!! NON CHANGEABLE!!!! Alpaca Halter Training (Walking): Walk one of our beautiful, friendly Alpacas around our property. Enjoy their wonderful personalities and cuteness overload. You will be instructed on how to handle your alpaca and we will give you a little bit of information on our Alpacas. 1 reservation is 1 Alpaca and 1 Person. Children under the age of 9 cannot walk by themselves. Your walk will last around 15 minutes. Feel free to take lots of pictures with your alpaca and if you need assistance doing so, please as one of our Volunteers for help. This is a rain/snow or shine unless torrential rain then we will postpone. PLEASE BE ONTIME! IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 5 MINUTES LATE FOR YOUR SCHEDULED WALK, YOUR WALK WILL BE CANCELLED!!!!! Our helpers are all volunteers, so tipping is appreciated.

Prince Rodgers Cemetery Foothill Road, Bridgewater, New Jersey, United StatesPrince Rodgers Military Family & Black Soldiers of the Civil War Reenactors of the 6th Regiment U.S. Colored Troops salute Prince Rodgers and Black Soldiers of the Civil War in the historic setting of Prince Rodgers Cemetery. Admission is free. Parking and reception at Prince Rodgers Cemetery, 375 Foothill Road Bridgewater, NJ 08807. The Prince Rodgers Foundation, Inc. hosts this memorial and living history event in cooperation with Somerset Patriots and Somerset County Historical Society. Historical reenactors of the 6th Regiment are presented by the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association with the sponsorship of New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission.
