Brite Nites After a one-year hiatus, BRITE NITES is back for its 12th year with NO PRICE INCREASE! Wagner Farm Arboretum's Halloween-themed “Brite Nites” event features a spectacular display of intricately and creatively hand-carved and LED-lit pumpkin scenes. Don’t miss the exciting new displays and installations planned for 2024. Angela Pilgrim & Barbara Wallace Solo Exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present two fall solo exhibitions on view September 27 through December 8. Angela Pilgrim: New Growth presents the work of Angela Pilgrim whose studio is in Newark, New Jersey. She explains, “My work explores the Black female gaze through figurative imagery of the body. Utilizing portraiture, printmaking, pattern making and mixed media.” Barbara Wallace: Sculpture showcases the work of sculptor Barbara Wallace, who resides in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Wallace is a sculptor known for her figurative art works and innovative use of recycled materials. When discussing her work, she explains, “Shape, form and structure are essential aspects of my sculptures created with a paper mache technique in recycled paper, cardboard, wire, metal and acrylic paint…. Using up-cycled resources addresses my concerns about climate change and the environment.”

Weekend Journey Through the Past The annual Weekend Journey through the Past is an opportunity to step back in time and experience the county's rich history. Up to 30 historic sites countywide are open free to the public during this weekend in October. Somerset County’s annual Journey Through The Past is an initiative of the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners and the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission in collaboration with many county-wide local historical organizations and commissions and other county organizations. Neshanic Station Flea Market The Flea Market will be held on Saturdays from April through October from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Rain Date: Each scheduled date is weather-dependent, so check this web page or our Google listing for any weather-related cancellations. Location: The Neshanic Station Flea Market is located at 111 Elm Street at the foot of the historic Neshanic Station Bridge in Branchburg. Vendors: Just $15 to rent a spot for the day. This is an outdoor flea market, so bring your own tables or racks to display your goods. All types of merchandise – antiques, collectibles, furniture, jewelry, housewares, tools, electronics, games, videos, books, toys, arts and crafts, memorabilia, clothing, etc. – are welcome. We also welcome sellers of honey, fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, and other food items. Space is assigned to vendors on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 7:00 am the day of the Flea Market. Shoppers: Attendance is FREE and there's lots of free parking. The Flea Market is open to shoppers from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. We encourage shoppers to bring a cash or food donation for the Somerset County Food Pantry.
