Politics at the Parsonage Explore the long history of the “Politics at the Parsonage” from the American Revolution to World War I at this open house of Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Site. Drop-in talks and exhibits will recur throughout the weekend: • “Asserting Their Just Rights” Old Dutch Parsonage’s Col Frederick Frelinghuysen & Rev. Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh at the Provincial Congress of New Jersey • “Washington, or Wilson?” Sen. Joseph S. Frelinghuysen, Sr. Ending & Remembering World War I in Somerset County from Raritan Historic and Cultural Committee • “Rightfully Hers: American Women and the Vote” pop-up exhibit from U.S. National Archives Volunteers of the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association support this program. Made possible by funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and New Jersey Historical Commission, as part of Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past.
Walk an Alpaca – Saturday Mornings
Walk an Alpaca - Saturday Mornings PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!! NON REFUNDABLE!!!!! NON CHANGEABLE!!!! Alpaca Halter Training (Walking): Walk one of our beautiful, friendly Alpacas around our property. Enjoy their wonderful personalities and cuteness overload. You will be instructed on how to handle your alpaca and we will give you a little bit of information on our Alpacas. 1 reservation is 1 Alpaca and 1 Person. Children under the age of 9 cannot walk by themselves. Your walk will last around 15 minutes. Feel free to take lots of pictures with your alpaca and if you need assistance doing so, please as one of our Volunteers for help. This is a rain/snow or shine unless torrential rain then we will postpone. PLEASE BE ONTIME! IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 5 MINUTES LATE FOR YOUR SCHEDULED WALK, YOUR WALK WILL BE CANCELLED!!!!! Our helpers are all volunteers, so tipping is appreciated.

Weekend Journey Through the Past - Tea, Treacles, and Tents Join at the Quartermaster General, Nathanael Greene's house to celebrate Somerset County's 2024 Weekend Journey Through The Past! We have a robust colonial candy and tea tasting this year with guest appearances from the continental army, ladies of the revolution, and even Katie Greene herself (with great appreciation to Carol Simon Levin for her expertise and character!) Now including a full encampment on the front lawn courtesy of the Winfield Scott Camp No. 73, sponsored by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War! Jump in our time machine and stop by anytime.

Snyder's Fall Festival Come to Snyder’s Farm and enjoy a well-organized day of family fun! From pumpkin picking and loads of fun activities to all your favorite fall comfort foods, like apple cider, cider donuts & yummy food trucks, we have something that is sure to please everyone. The Fall festival is held weekends only, hours are 11am to 6pm last entry and wagon ride to the event field is 4:30 We will not be open on Columbus Day 2024 Dates: October 5/6, 12/13, 19/20, 26/27 Discounts offered for Seniors and Military (must show Military ID) FYI: Our tractor pulled wagon is how you get to our fall festal event field, if you do not wish to take the wagon ride and want to walk, upon admission you must ask our team member to give you a driveway pass, those without passes will not be able to gain access to the driveway. Currently do not take credit cards; an ATM will be on premise should you need it. Activities included: Corn maze Hay ride to and from the festival site Pony Hops Big Slide Hay Bale Maze Haybale Activity Centers Climbing Tunnels Rubber Duck Race Hamster Wheel Bowling Wooden Train
