Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. Pre-registration Required. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. The 103rd Far Hills Race
The 103rd Far Hills Race The 103rd running of the Far Hills Race Meeting (a.k.a. The Hunt) will take place on Saturday, October 19th, 2024. For more than a century, this annual gathering at Moorland Farm is a highlight of the fall season and attracts thousands of spectators who return, year after year, to watch the world’s finest steeplechases, reconnect with family and friends, network, support worthy causes and make memories to last a lifetime. Don’t miss out – tickets are available to purchase now! A reserved parking space for your car to host a tailgate and watch the races at your dedicated space. A general admission ticket to access the event grounds and a friend’s reserved parking space. A Chairman’s Tent ticket grants you access to an all-inclusive VIP tent with seating at the finish line, an upscale buffet lunch, and an open bar. A Hunt Club ticket grants guests 21+ access to food, drinks, entertainment and a private area along the backstretch. Private tents are also available for corporate or large private parties.

NJ Audubon: The Fungi Kingdom Led by Dorothy Smullen, Teacher/Naturalist, former president of the New Jersey Mycological Association Join Teacher/naturalist Dorothy Smullen for an all-day NJ Audubon Institute For Field Naturalists workshop about all things "mushroom." Using keys, field guides, powerpoint presentations, and a trail walk we will cover the basics of identification, and learn about the importance of fungi for the ecosystem and the future. A Professoinal Development certificate will be available for this workshop. COST: $75 members, $95 nonmembers. Registration required. Ticket sale ends 10/16 at 4:00 PM. Hayride, Corn Maze, and Pumpkin Picking Event Experience the best of fall at our farm with our Hayride, Corn Maze, and Petting Zoo event! Starting in late September and running through October, this event offers an outdoor adventure for the whole family. Your $18 admission includes a scenic round-trip hayride through the farm, a journey through our fun-filled corn maze, entry to our pumpkin patch, and petting zoo admission (where you can meet and pet our friendly farm animals). While pumpkins and gourds are not included in the ticket, they are available for purchase in the field! (cash only, by size). Children under 24 months old enjoy free admission.
