Continental Congress & Common Cause: New Jersey's Brunswick Resolves of 1774 The Brunswick Convention met in New Brunswick 250 years ago for three days in July 1774, appointing delegates from New Jersey to the First Continental Congress and joining New Jersey by committees of correspondence to the “common cause” of the Thirteen Colonies of British North America. Observe this anniversary with a reading and historical discussion of the Brunswick Resolves, adopted at the Brunswick Convention’s conclusion, for an encounter with New Jersey on the edge of the American Revolution in the summer of 1774. Admission is free. No registration is required.

2024 Summer Concert Series Join for the Summer Concert Series at Duke Island Park, where music lovers of all ages come together to celebrate a variety of genres and eras. From classic rock to jazz, country to pop, each concert promises a memorable summer experience . Admission and parking are free. Park Rangers will help guide parking, offering closer spots to those with handicaps. A selection of food trucks will be onsite and may vary from week to week. Visitors are welcome to bring your own cooler with snacks and drinks. Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in the park. Don't forget to bring your own lawn chair or blanket to relax and immerse yourself in the music-filled atmosphere. Norz Hill Farm Farmers Market In addition to its regular farm market hours, Norz Hill Farm is adding a weekly farmers market to its schedule of community-friendly events this summer. Taking place on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at 120 South Branch Road in Hillsborough, the market will feature wholesome foods and items from area vendors. “The purpose of the market is to offer fresh food and products to Somerset County and neighboring regions,” said Megan Norz, the farm market manager. The market will take place rain or shine, except in the event of severe weather. Returning vendors include Gramps Kitchen, Hot Graham Sauce Company, Lulu Artisanal Lemonade, Paolo's Kitchen, Pickle Culture, Pies & Quiches, Schiefersteins Farm, Smart Buy Natural Foods, and Sutton Farms. • Joining us this year are AquaSprout Farms, Barking Good Bakery, Complex Herbal Blends, Pourtuga Coffee House, Raining Sprinkles Bake Shop, River Valley Community Grains, Wood Box Soap, and Zell’s Farm. The list of young vendors from the Valley View Young Entrepreneurs Club is expanding. Crystals and Co. and Sunny Dayz Jewelry will be joined by Happy Henna and Commendable Candles. More vendors are anticipated and there will be special events, such as music and tables by local scouting troops. There will once again be a borough table providing information from CERT/OEM and the Environmental Commission. There will be a Watchung Lions Club collection box for eyeglasses and hearing aids.
