SSAAM Juneteenth Celebration - Freedom Forward Our Juneteenth celebration, “Freedom Forward,” is a family-friendly event that aims to educate, celebrate, and promote unity and cohesion within our culturally diverse community. The event will feature music by the Jon Ware Quintet featuring Gina Ware, a youth rock band from the Allegra School of Music and Arts, opera singer, Dr. Sonya Headlam, an original play written by Ryan Kilpatrick and performed by youth actors from the Allegra School of Music and Arts, original poetry by Olivia Altidor, a youth poet from Hillsborough High School, a stone mosaic workshop from Emmy award-winning educator and artist, Dr. Ronah Harris and a family tree heritage workshop led by the Morven Museum. The event will feature classic African American barbecue from The Big Easy of Trenton and vegan food options from Mukolee Food Truck. The day will also feature a Juneteenth museum exhibit and activities in our Heritage Garden and tours of the grounds. This family-friendly event will have fun games and activities for all to enjoy. Make Your Own Hypertufa Pot Workshop Make a beautiful outdoor garden container that will last for years. Old stone sinks and animal troughs have been used to grow plants for many years and are now scarce and very expensive. But we can make them from hypertufa, a rustic, textured type of artificial stone you make in molds of various shapes. It is lighter than regular concrete and will not be damaged by freezing after it is completely cured. One person per ticket. Ticket sale ends 6/15 at 4:00 PM. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. Limit 10. COST: $25 members, $30 nonmembers.

For more than 20 years, critically-acclaimed songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer Anna Rose has toured the United States headlining powerfully intimate shows and opening for an array of illustrious global acts. Time on the road, and in the studio for her three impassioned full-length albums, has honed her songcrafting skills and fueled the storytelling fire that burns within this Nashville-based, New York and LA-raised independent artist. Rose transforms cross-genre influences - which range from classic rock to alternative-indie, pop and country - into concise contemporary tracks built upon dynamic, often bombastic, vocals and expert musicianship. Opening the concert will be Rebecca Haviland, lead singer of Rebecca Haviland and Whiskey Heart, a roots rock Americana band based in New York. Rebecca's big vocals and intimate songwriting break new barriers with her band's unique form of Americana. She'll open the show as a duo, and then will join Anna Rose's trio for the headlining set. We are excited to welcome Anna Rose back to the Ross Farm on Saturday, June 17!
