A Murder Is Announced

A Murder Is Announced The Lord Stirling Theater Company will perform the Agatha Christie murder mystery “A Murder Is Announced” in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. “A Murder Is Announced” will open on Friday, October 20, at 7:30PM, with additional performances on October 21 at 7:30PM, October 22 at 2:00PM, October 27 and 28 at 7:30PM, and October 29 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $25 general admission, $23 for seniors (65 and over) and students, $20 for Farmstead Arts members, and $15 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased online at https://farmsteadartscenter.org or at the door (cash only). Based on Agatha Christie’s 1950 novel of the same name and adapted for the stage in 1977 by Leslie Darbon, “A Murder Is Announced” takes place in the quiet, little village of Chipping Cleghorn, where the residents are astonished to read an advertisement in the local newspaper that gives the date and time a murder will take place at the home of Letitia Blacklock. Unable to resist their curiosity, a group gathers at the house at the appointed time, when the lights go out and gunshots are fired.   12 Angry Jurors is our next exciting production this October, at the People Care Center, 120 Finderne Ave, Bridgewater, NJ. 12 Angry Jurors is a play that contemplates the huge responsibility of 12 ordinary people as they consider the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murder.  The 12 jurors bring their own histories, prejudices, and biases to the jury room as they work through this life-or-death decision.

Morning Walk at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. One person per ticket. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please bring binoculars if you have them.
