A Celebration of the Stage: Opera to Broadway

Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ, United StatesA Celebration of the Stage: Opera to Broadway Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) is thrilled to announce its upcoming production, “A Celebration of the Stage: Opera to Broadway,” taking place on October 8, 2023, at 3 PM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Basking Ridge, NJ. This exciting program will feature selections from beloved operas and musicals, showcasing the incredible range and versatility of the human voice. The program will feature Baritone Troy Cook who has performed with some of the top opera houses in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Boston Lyric Opera and many others. Also appearing will be some of the finest rising stars, currently in the Masters of Opera program at The Juilliard School. The concert will be accompanied by Karen Delavan, who is faculty at The Juilliard School and is a renowned pianist/opera coach.

Halloween Hayrides at Lord Stirling Park Take a scenic tour through Lord Stirling Park while learning about the properties haunted past! A tour guide will share history and spooky ghost stories along the way! An educational, family friendly event! Feel free to participate in costume!

Scare Farm is open throughout the month of October on Friday, Saturday & some Sunday nights. Embrace the madness and mayhem. And brings your friends to be terrorized, too. 10 Year Anniversary Oktoberfest @ Flounder
Join us all weekend long as we celebrate 10 years since our first official commercial release! All ages except Saturday after 5 is 21+ It all starts Friday with some awesome beer and we have Walt Syzonenko playing the polka hits on the accordion 6-9. Saturday we'll be outside in the horseshoe so bring the blankets and camp chairs and we've got the Flounder Brass Band playing the traditional Bavarian tunes 1-4. Please note children are welcome but must be with you at all times, for everyone's safety please leave the footballs, soccer balls, etc at home. Outdoors will close at 5. Then Saturday night starting at 5 we are 21+ only inside and we welcome all the way from Pittsburgh the Garrett Tatano Band bringing traditional German mixed with some Rocktoberfest and we will be dancing to close at 10! Then we bring it down a bit on Sunday with a special Brewer's Hour at 11 where we will be featuring a special cask beer. Tickets are required for the Brewer's Hour and can be found at bio.site/flounderbrewing - Delta House members do not need tickets. Special releases all weekend long!!

Pottery Course: Teens
Pottery Course *Teens 8 week art course starting Monday's October 09 - November 27, 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm Students will gain an understanding of the nature of clay. They will experience first hand the magic of transforming clay into vessels as they are challenged artistically to discover their relationship with the wheel and clay. Glazing and firing will be covered. Functional and sculptural handbuilding projects will be explored. Experimentation will be encouraged. Special Notes All students must comply with the Policies and Procedures found on The Center's website. There will be no refunds for students removed from class for failure to observe The Center’s Policies and Procedures. Materials All materials are included, however, we recommend bringing a smock or old t-shirt to wear over clothes to avoid messes.
