Nature Through a Child’s Eye Art Show (Virtual)

January 1 - February 28
NJ United States
Free

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education (EEC) will virtually present the 2021 Children’s Art Show, Nature Through a Child’s Eye.  The EEC has been featuring artwork from Somerset County students for twenty-nine years and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will continue the exhibit this year in a virtual format through the months of January and February.   The creative art display is available at www.somersetcountyparks.org; on Facebook at /EECscparks; and on Instagram at @eec_scparks.   The works communicate their views of nature and the environment though application of textures, shapes and colors. Adults and children alike will enjoy the works of the creative minds of Somerset County school children.   Past projects have included fall leaves printed with tempera, nature landscapes in pastels, and impressions of trees, all of which demonstrate the children's relationship with nature.   For information on Nature Through a Child's Eye or other Environmental Education Center activities, call 908-722-1200, ext. 5335 or NJ Relay 711 for individuals with a hearing or speech impairment.

For nearly a year now, the Covid-19 virus has invaded our lives in devastating ways that we could have never before imagined. Every aspect of our existence has changed. Destitution, including hunger, unemployment and homelessness has shattered the future for many, and our perspective of life and death has forever been altered. For this juried exhibition we’re asking artists to look upon this period of time and create reflective imagery through the process of hand drawing an image onto a chosen surface. The surface can be paper, but may also include any other surface that works. Drawing implements can range from pencils, pens, and charcoal to brushes, crayons and markers to 3 dimensional materials such as string, as well as a stylus or touch screen and any other tool that can translate the drawing successfully onto the chosen surface. Eligibility 1. Exhibition is open to residents 18 years or older, living in NY, NJ and PA. 2. All media must be original and by the artist. 3. We prefer that work be hand delivered to the gallery, but will accept pre-paid shipment of work preferably through the Post Office with return packaging to and from the gallery 4 Art work

Her audience is multigenerational creating an excuse for large groups of friends and families to spend a night out together. In an era where only 10% of all touring comedians are female, Jessica stands out as one of the strongest comedians regardless of gender. As her friend Dave Attell says, “I’d hate to follow her.” This year, Jessica will be featured playing herself on the HBO series Crashing with Pete Holmes. She recently served as a consultant, producer and writer as well as acted in Robert De Niro’s film “The Comedian.” She has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, “The View, and “Kevin Can Wait.” She was recently awarded “Best Female Comic” by the MAC association in New York City and received the prestigious Nightlife Award for “Best Stand-up Comedian.” And in her spare time, Jessica is a regular contributor to the “Howard Stern Show, where
