Marsha Goldberg: Reiterations – Paintings & Works on Paper

The Center for Contemporary Art 2020 Burnt Mills Road Bedminster, NJ 07921 (908) 234-2345 Marsha Goldberg works primarily in painting, drawing, and printmaking, and has recently been making cyanotypes from ink-on-acetate drawings. In 2013, she received the NJ State Council for the Arts Fellowship in the category Works on Paper. In her current work, which combines cyanotype and drawing media, she continues her investigation into war-related images and their dissemination in news media. Dropping in all the way from the 1770s. This year’s history-themed trek through Bound Brook’s downtown Arts District features actors and musicians dressed in Colonial attire who will interact with tour attendees and provide their unique 18th-century perspective on local restaurants and taverns visited along the route. Local historians lead two tours (1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.), interspersing stories about Bound Brook's colorful history with savvy tips for enjoying borough restaurants and cultural activities today. On Saturday, April 13, 2019 celebrate Spring with Franklin Township Parks & Recreation at our FREE Bunny Jamboree at the Franklin Township Municipal Lot, 505 Demott Lane, Somerset NJ from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. All ages are welcome to attend. No pets please. The Bunny Jamboree will kick-off with an egg hunt at 1:00pm for children ages four and under followed by an egg hunt at 1:30pm for children ages five and older. Children will be delighted to explore an official fire truck thanks to our friends at the Somerset Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. There will also be fun games, crafts, music and prizes along with a special appearance and photo opportunities with Mr. & Mrs. Bunny! Book Launch: “I Can See Clearly Now” by Peggy DeLong

Dr. Peggy DeLong was raised in Bernardsville and is now a clinical and forensic psychologist with a private practice in Long Valley. She has just published a memoir, “I Can See Clearly Now: A Memoir about Love, Grief, and Gratitude,” and she will launch the book at Bernardsville Public Library (1 Anderson Hill Road in Bernardsville) on Saturday, April 13 at 2:00 pm. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. Light refreshments will be served. Dr. DeLong’s memoir describes how one woman harnessed the power of love and gratitude to heal and grow. She was a young woman engaged to a wonderful man and about to begin her doctoral program in psychology. Life felt incredibly sweet. Then, out of the blue, her strong, vibrant fiancé was diagnosed with cancer. The prognosis is grim. With raw emotion, she tells how she cared for the love of her life and proceeded with their wedding plans, all while fearing his death.
