NJ United States + Google Map

Bernardsville Public Library is pleased to present an exhibition of "Impressionistic Images," photographs by members of the Exhibition Committee of the New Jersey Photography Forum, during the month of February. The show opens on February 3. Impressionism is an art movement that began in the 19th century with artists Monet, Pissarro, and Degas, to name a few. The images in the Impressionistic Photography Exhibit convey the feeling of a scene, a general impression, or suggestion of a scene or subject. Lacking in realistic detail, an impressionistic images emphasize color over line and, in some cases, are soft, dreamy or have a painterly feeling. Nancy Ori, Director of the New Jersey Photography Forum, says, “The Exhibition Committee of the New Jersey Photography Forum manages all the exhibition activities and programs of NJPF including our annual juried show and about 12 exhibits a year for the group. We occasionally produce professional workshops and other events for NJPF and manage the NJPF website and monthly newsletters. The Committee promotes a professional approach to exhibitions through on-going training and creating guidelines for exhibition management. All 17 members of the committee were invited to be part of this exhibit.” The photographers of the Exhibition Committee Learn More ...
