The World Series of Birding is perhaps the world’s most famous birding competition. Organized by the New Jersey Audubon Society, the World Series of Birding brings participants from around the world to identify the most bird species throughout the state of New Jersey over a 24-hour period. What’s even better is that the event is also a fundraiser for bird conservation!
Did you know…Somerset County is home to several Important Birding Areas (IBAs) as well as the New Jersey Audubon Headquarters, the Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, in Bernardsville? As in previous years, the Sanctuary will field a team for the World Series of Birding, the Scherman Hoffman Century Run, in 2019.
For more information on these events, and to register, please see registration and pledge forms on the World Series of Birding website. You can also call 908-396-6386 or stop by the Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, located at 11 Hardscrabble Rd, Bernardsville, NJ.
