Spring Break with the Family

School's Out for Spring Break

School is off for the week and you don't know what to do with the kids. If you like to explore, there's plenty to do and see in Somerset County, from our area's rich historical sites, to our parks and gardens, to our recreational facilities, and our restaurants. Here's our Spring Break Round-up...

Explore our rich history

Somerset County is one of the nation's oldest counties. Being that New Jersey is the heart of the American Revolution, there is so much history to explore in Somerset County. We hope you can check out Somerset County's many historical sites. Get some ideas here!

Connect with our farms

Head over to Hidden Spring Lavender Farm to see the alpacas. Stop in their lavender shoppe to get some handmade local items such as soaps, oils, and culinary items - all that's made with lavender grown right on the farm!

Bluebird Farm Alpacas is opening their doors on March 27 by reservation only. Get in a tour with the family and explore the 11-acre farm on an alpaca walk.

Get active with us

So your kids are super active. Get some energy out with laser tag or arcade at Branchburg Sports Complex. These activity spaces are available to be rented out. Head over  for some fun on the ninja course and rock climbing at Iron Peak. Or, if you need to drop the kids off for the day, check out the camps at Iron Peak for a entire week's worth of activities.

Get back to nature

Breathe in that fresh spring air and hit the trails. We've compiled so many locations within Somerset County for you and your family to hike, bike, or stroll through. Check it out here. Make sure you look up on our trails to catch more of our avian populations!

Be entertained

Head over to Somerville - or sign up for a virtual experience with Ultimate Xscape Rooms - virtual games are 50% off during March! Choose from two rooms - an Edison themed room (perfect for the Jersey family), or a dragon themed room (one for the Game of Thrones fans!). Two additional rooms will be forthcoming later this season including a Sherlock room and a wizarding room.

Kids are a little older? For families with kids 13 and older, head over to Stumpy's Hatchet House in Green Brook. Be on the lookout for their themed nights such as their signature "Throw 'n Glow" event!

Get into golf

Hit our many golf courses! Whether golf is new for you, or it's your go-to favorite, we have so many different options for you and your family to check out this spring. See what's waiting for you here.
