Halloween Events & Experiences
Spooktacular (Somerville) Activities have been planned at three locations in the district; Main Street, Division St, and the Somerset County Courthouse Lawn. From 4:00pm to 6:00pm activities will include Trick-or-Treating at participating businesses, music and games, pumpkin painting, and more.
Norz Hill Farm – Scare Fest (Hillsborough) – Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays September 25-November 1
Get your heart beating with their Scare Fest. Visitors will have the option to choose from 4 attractions at Norz Hill Farm & Market – or visit them all! So gather your friends and family who love a good scare and head over to Norz! Not so much into chills and thrills? Turn it down during the day, you can also enjoy their Fall Festival with pumpkin picking, hayrides, a trek to the farm, photo opportunities, and more!
Downtown Somerville – Spooky Night Market – October 8
From eerie artwork and gothic décor to witchy goods, vintage finds, horror-inspired creations, and one-of-a-kind collectibles, this open-air market is the perfect way to kick off spooky season.
Abma’s Farm: Flashlight Corn Maze featuring the Headless Horseman (Hillsborough) – October 16 & 17
Begin with a nighttime hayride through the farm, then test your navigation skills inside our corn maze using only your flashlight. Younger guests, or anyone looking for a shorter adventure, can explore our Popcorn Trail instead. Finish up the evening with a visit the animals in our Petting Zoo!
State Theatre of NJ – Beetlejuice (New Brunswick) – September 25, 26, 27
It’s showtime! Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.
Halloween Hayrides (Bernards) – October 2, 3, 4 and 9, 10, 11
Take a scenic tour through Lord Stirling Park while learning about the properties haunted past! A tour guide will share history and spooky ghost stories along the way!
Halloween Trunk or Treat (Bernards) – October 31
Get ready for a spooktacular afternoon of candy, costumes, fun, and community! Realsophy Real Estate is excited to host our annual Halloween Trunk or Treat, and we’re inviting families from throughout our community to join us for an afternoon of Halloween fun!
Stalls, Sweets, & Treats (Bernards) – October 25
Stop by on Sunday, October 25th and participate in our “Barn Trick-or-Treat Event”. Included is a self guided, trick-or-treat style barn tour, horses in costume, decorated stalls, horse costume contests, hay maze, and more. Stop by to vote for your favorite costume! Voting will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 pm.. Awards will be announced on October 26th on social media.
Rocky Horror Picture Show at Brook Arts Center (Bound Brook) – October 31
In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”
