Perhaps you’re a foodie with an eclectic palette, or maybe you’re looking to get the family out of the house for a fun afternoon. Either way, Franklin Day Festival should surely be on your itinerary. For one seriously fun day on Saturday September 22nd, around 20,000 individuals are expected to gather in Colonial Park on Elizabeth Avenue in Somerset, NJ. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to spread out and relax in the park.

Farmers Market
Come on out and support local farming with some certified Jersey Fresh® produce! This will also be the closing day for the Franklin Township Community Farmers Market.

Food Trucks
About eighteen food trucks will be stationed at the festival with an extensive assortment of yummy bites to eat: cupcakes, pizza, tacos, corn, the Soupman (yes, the one from Seinfeld), Island Noodles, BBQ, and more!
Children’s Activities
Bring the kids along! There are plenty of activities for them to partake in, and the best part? They’re all free! Kids can enjoy the petting zoo, pony rides, paddleboats, a putting course, inflatable jump houses, and an assortment of games and activities.
NJ Army National Guard
The NJ Army National Guard will again be joining the festival. This year, they’re bringing back the popular climbing wall, and as a special treat, will be landing a Black Hawk helicopter* for everyone to see up close and personal. The landing will take place at approximately 1:00 pm and individuals will have the opportunity to check out the helicopter and even climb inside the cockpit!
*Please note: the arrival of the helicopter is contingent upon Presidential visits to the area.
Live Music
Enjoy live music and entertainment with the Groove City Band and Funktion11.
Classic Car Show
Classic cars will be rolling into the festival. Make sure to see the variety of colorful car models spanning decades.
