Join us for a one-day intensive workshop where we will explore experimental printmaking techniques to create unique prints. As a group, we will experiment with various objects, including clothing, stuffed animals, plants, bubble wrap, leaves, fabric, and textures, running them through the press. Participants will work with paper lithography, pressure printing, transfer methods, and various monoprint techniques. Each individual will have the opportunity to explore their creative process. By the end of the session, every participant will have produced two 22×30” prints using unconventional methods, gaining a deeper understanding of how these techniques can enhance their creative possibilities in printmaking.

Students provide:
Any materials you wish to run through the press should be relatively flat. Suitable items include dried plants, paper cut-outs, clothing, and stuffed animals (without their stuffing). If you have any questions about the materials, please contact Kath at kath AT frontlinearts DOT org. Additionally, bring a sketchbook to jot down ideas and take notes. Frontline will provide the other materials needed for this course.

About the Instructor:
Kath Yarkosky is an educator, printmaker, and fine art printer. Her work primarily focuses on industry, labor, socio-economics, and their impacts on the environment, both physically and psychologically. Kath has been teaching at Frontline since 2022, and serves as the studio tech and production printer. She is currently the Printer at the Experimental Printmaking Institute and an adjunct professor at Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
