The Raven – Story Reading and Campfire

Join for a cozy evening of spooky tales around the campfire at New Jersey Audubon’s Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. Listen to the haunting words of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic poem, “The Raven,” as you roast marshmallows drink hot chocolate and enjoy the crisp autumn air. Don’t miss out on this unique storytelling experience under the stars! Dave Pasake, retired Elementary School teacher, will read The Raven, a classic poem by Edgar Allan Poe about a man’s grief and despair after the death of his lover Lenore. The poem features a mysterious raven that repeats the word “nevermore”. Dave will discuss the American writer and poet, Edgar Allen Poe, as well as the Common Raven, a bird that is found year-round in North America, Europe and Asia. This program is suitable for families, adults and children alike.
