Town Clean Up and Free Tree Seedlings

9 am | Saturday, April 25 | Division Street

Meet us on Division Street to help beautify our town and preserve our environment. From our parks to our streets, we’ll pick up litter and restore the natural beauty of our town.

• We will meet on Division Street at 9 am.
• Dress accordingly – we suggest wearing sturdy shoes.
• The Department of Public Works will provide garbage bags and work gloves.
• We will have giveaways and there will be educational tables.
• We will provide a list of suggested clean-up sites and disperse across town to pick up litter.
• Everyone will receive free tree seedlings, courtesy of the Environmental Commission. Take them home to plant, or get advice on planting them in our local public parks.

Earth Day Green Fair

11 am to 2 pm | Saturday, April 25 | Division Street

Whether you’re interested in learning about beekeeping, solar energy, or browsing sustainable goods, this family-friendly event has something for everyone. You’ll connect with various local organizations that put sustainability and our environment first.

Meet members of the Environmental Commission and learn about ways you can get involved in our sustainable initiatives, including our Home Energy Efficiency Campaign, the new Fairy Trail, and volunteering with the Green Team. Meet passionate folks from the NJ Beekeepers Association, Sierra Club of Raritan Valley, SeedEd, Nature at Heart School, and many more. Explore their booths, engage in kid-friendly activities, and discover how you can make a positive impact on the planet, right here in our community. Join us in celebrating sustainability this Earth Day and empower our community to embrace sustainable living practices!

5th Annual Town Swap

Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26 | Somerville

We invite residents to place unwanted items out on the curb for others to reuse. Mark your calendars to help minimize waste entering our landfills, and make Somerville cleaner one swap at a time!

• Place free items in front of your residence for others to take over the weekend
• Suggested items: clothes, books, toys, household items
• Make sure everything you put out is usable or functional
• The Town Swap is not for trash, but for unwanted items that need a new home
• Everyone is responsible for their own cleanup at the end of the weekend

Bike drive

11 am to 2 pm | Wednesday, April 22 | 34 E. Main Street

Do you have a gently used bike you no longer need? Donate it at the RideWise and Pops Bike Shop bike drive and help provide reliable transportation to someone in our community. To donate, complete the bike donation form or bring your bike to Pops Bike Shop on the day of the event. The rain date is April 23.
