Politics at the Parsonage

Explore the long history of the “Politics at the Parsonage” from the American Revolution to World War I at this open house of Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Site.

Drop-in talks and exhibits will recur throughout the weekend:

• “Asserting Their Just Rights” Old Dutch Parsonage’s Col Frederick Frelinghuysen & Rev. Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh at the Provincial Congress of New Jersey

• “Washington, or Wilson?” Sen. Joseph S. Frelinghuysen, Sr. Ending & Remembering World War I in Somerset County from Raritan Historic and Cultural Committee

• “Rightfully Hers: American Women and the Vote” pop-up exhibit from U.S. National Archives

Volunteers of the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage Association support this program. Made possible by funds from the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and New Jersey Historical Commission, as part of Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past.
