250 years ago on December 7, 1775, Scottish emigrant and Philadelphia merchant John Wallace purchased 95 acres along the Raritan River in Somerset County from the Rev. Jacob Rutsen Hardenbergh of the Old Dutch Parsonage.

Wish the Wallace House a Happy 250th Birthday. Learn about the rehabilitation of the Wallace House underway for Revolution NJ and toss a sprig of holly on the yule log in an early celebration of Hogmanay, the Scots new year.
