Join the Franklin Trails Advisory Committee (TAC) for a combined hike and historic house tour. Franklin was at the center of the action during the American Revolution – from the victories at Trenton and Princeton through the end of the conflict. This special America 250 event combines a leisurely hike with commentary about the area’s importance in the Revolution and a guided tour of Rockingham, George Washington’s final wartime headquarters.
Patrick Murray, TAC member and former president of the Crossroads of the American Revolution Association, leads the hike. Paul F. Soltis, historian for Rockingham State Historic Site, hosts the historic house tour.
Attendance is free, but registration is required: https://franklintwp.recdesk.com/Community/Program/Detail?programId=2657
Hike begins and ends at John W. Flemer Preserve, Franklin Township, NJ 08528.
The Rockingham Association serve as friends of Rockingham State Historic Site.
? Revolution NJ is New Jersey’s official observance of the 250th anniversaries of the American Revolution in New Jersey from 2024 – 2033. Franklin Township and Somerset County are Revolution NJ Communities.
