June 1 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Field of Honor at Jacobus Vanderveer

The community is invited to stroll through the field of flags and tour the Jacobus Vanderveer House, including a model of the Pluckemin Cantonment, America’s 1st military academy. At 11:30 am Bedminster Mayor Larry Jacobs and the Bedminster Environmental Commission will plant a seedling from the Historic Salem Oak Tree – one of New Jersey’s most treasured trees for its size, longevity, and history. At 12:00 pm join us for a live performance by the White House Wind Symphony! Bring your chairs, blankets and have a picnic. Admission is free, with a $10 suggested donation to tour the house.

Dedicate a flag and honor your loved ones for $25! Dedications will be featured on the JVH website, social media, and a post-event email. Families of active-duty military personnel (including National Guard and Reserve) can sponsor a flag at no charge (compliments of The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House). Flags may be sponsored by mailing your dedication and payment to The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House, P.O. Box 723, Bedminster, NJ 07921, online at www.jvanderveerhouse.org, or by emailing info@jvanderveerhouse.org.
