Join us for the beautiful sounds of Rossini, Suk, and Dvo?ák played by our very own Brook Orchestra under the Direction of Thomas Vacca. This powerful set will invoke your senses of wonder and awe.
Rossini’s Overture for William Tell was designed to present the day in the life of a Switzerland in revolt. As the piece accelerates it introduces a determined galloping energy.
Suk’s Scherzo Fantastique is a relatively short piece that plays many jokes on the listener by misleading the expectations of the form.
Dvo?ák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor is nicknamed “from the New World” because Dvorak wrote it during the time he spent in the U.S. in the 1890’s. It has been said that Dvo?ák was inspired by the “wide open spaces” of America.
