Balladeer Linda Russell: An 18th Century Musical Yuletide Celebration
Ease into the season with a joyful musical celebration of the coming holidays! Playing hammered and mountain dulcimers, Linda will trace the history of Christmas in the American Colonies through voiced carols, hymns, dance tunes, and drinking songs interwoven with Yuletide poems, folklore and recipes. Sing along and get into the holiday spirit!
Linda Russell explores history through music. Having served for many years as a balladeer for the National Park Service at Federal Hall, the site of Washington’s inauguration, Ms. Russell now takes her music to historic sites, schools and festivals throughout the country. New York City appearances have included Lincoln Center, The New York Historical Society and the Carnegie Hall Folk Festival. She has recorded eight albums of traditional and popular music of America’s past.
